The Praktica MTL3, this was my 1st ever SLR camera.
My father bought it brand new about 30 years ago, it came into my hands about 15 years later. The Photos I took with it in the mid 90′s got me into art school. I then acquired my 1st of many Nikon’s.
The MTL3 is fully manual and takes the screw mount M42 lenses popular on the east side of the Berlin Wall.
It is big, heavy, clunky and not particularly nice to use. The 50mm Pentacon lens is quite good though, nice and sharp with a long, smooth focus throw.
It had been sitting on a shelf or packed up in a box since the late 90′s, so thought I’d dust it off and put a film through it.
I carefully loaded (if i remember rightly it ate the last film that was in it) a roll of Ilford HP5. The weather was rubbish that afternoon, but i’m still quite pleased with the results:

Your contact sheet is very consistent. The camera seems quite predictable.
